What's the deal with the Falcon F-Lite campers?

People are seeing the Falcon by Travel Lite everywhere they go. Why? It's due to friendly campers such as Mike M out of Central Illinois. He felt the Falcon buzz and had to come to Legacy Recreational Vehicles to check them out with only one concern in mind...can I pull it? Will my 2018 Dodge Caravan haul this bad boy from my home to say... Mount Rushmore? Of course you can and of course, he did!

Mike filled us in on all things Falcon F-18RB...

The F-Lite 18RB is one of those "head turners" we were talking about. It's a sleek single axle design that comes standard with some sporty wheels. Mike informs us that he will be replacing the wheels on his 2018 Dodge Caravan so he can give it that same sweet style just as his Falcon has.

I asked Mike about his trip to Mount Rushmore and he explained he had absolutely no problems at all when it came to pulling the Falcon F-18RB with his 18' Caravan. He actually exclaimed the comfort of riding in the Dodge Van compared to his previous vehicle which was a newer style Ford truck. Mike made the trade due to some health issues preventing him from entering the vehicle without possible pain or injury.

Thankfully we have Falcon by Travel Lite on the lot and Mike was able to find something that his sweet little caravan could pull. He also took the time to mention that the camper seems minimal on the outside but after spending a few nights inside... the interior shines in some big ways. He also mention the ease of maneuvering the F-18RB and made sure to mention that backing in to any space was a minimal task. "Just plain easy" as he put it.

Comfort in a confined area can be almost impossible to achieve but apparently, "this thing is conveniently comfy" via Mike. He did mention that the blinds can sometimes get in the way but can be easily moved so his only "con" had a "common sense" solution. Move it if it's in the way...

Weight + Fuel MPG

The Falcon series was built with 2 goals in mind. Let's be convenient and practical mixed with a little style while we're at it. They did just that and it gave ole' Mike another reason to give Falcon F-Lite 18RB a go!

He is a man of numbers and we appreciate that here at Legacy Recreational Vehicles because numbers are what matter especially in the Weight/GVWR category of RV Campers.

Mike's Mount Rushmore trip totals:

3300 Miles Round Trip

8.5 - 11 MPG while towing

22 MPG without towing

Average MPG of 15.8 for the whole trip

Seems pretty solid for a 2018 Dodge Caravan with a 3.6 liter V6 that has no upgrades.

Mike wants more!

Mike is a man that knows what he wants and usually makes it happen just the way he sees it should be. That's why he decided to upgrade that van for even better pull ratings.

2018 Dodge Caravan Upgrades include:

Better Trailer Brake Controller

Weight Distribution Hitch

Performance Chip from www.chipyourcar.com

Air Lift which is used to govern ride height and keep the trailer level

After $1,700 in upgrades he now has added 1,000 lbs to his tongue weight rating and says that his ride is smoother than it already was. The investment is already paying for itself plus he exclaims that his average MPG is right at 14.6 while pulling.  This is at least a 3.5 MPG increase in fuel mileage which makes sure that the money spent on this upgrade is headed right back to his pocket. Or is it?

When Mike came in for some service he made sure to check out the new units on the lot and let's just say that the Falcon F-23TH GT caught his eye and had to take it for a test pull.

Apparently the Dodge Caravan pulled that Falcon F-23TH GT without any issues but Mike loves his F-Lite 18RB for now. He wants to put a few more miles on before he let's it go for the Falcon F-23TH GT and we don't blame him. It was just picked it up earlier this year and Mike isn't finished putting his "touch" on everything.

One thing we can tell you is that the Falcon "BUZZ" is real and we here a Legacy Recreational Vehicles are here to help in any way that we can!

We want to thank Mike M for taking the time to answer some questions and tell some stories. It's always a good day when he is on the lot.
